Latin American Mentor: Fernando Gonzalez colleague EO Bogotá

Post by mstajminakter12 »

This month I had the opportunity to meet with Fernando González, my colleague from EO in the Bogotá chapter, for a breakfast that turned into a deep conversation about impact, continuous improvement, and the true purpose of leadership. Fernando is a key figure in the global entrepreneurial ecosystem, not only for his ability to guide and coach entrepreneurs, but for his genuine commitment to learning. He is an instructor at EO Accelerator, a program in which he has worked with thousands of entrepreneurs in Argentina, Latin America, and various parts of the world, teaching tools for efficiency in business processes. In this article, I want to share some of the most powerful points of our conversation and highlight the invaluable work that Fernando does as a trainer of new leaders.

1. The Humility of Constant Learning
Fernando has a phrase that sums up his philosophy: “I teach what I have the most to learn .” That statement contains a powerful lesson: true teaching comes from humility, from a place of recognizing that learning is never-ending. In each EO Accelerator session, Fernando shares his experience, but he also makes room to listen, to absorb new perspectives, and to constantly question himself. That willingness to learn alongside others—not just as a teacher, but also as an apprentice—is one of the aspects that makes him such an effective and approachable mentor. For those in the startup world, this approach has a clear message: let’s never poland whatsapp stop learning, especially from those who, at first glance, seek to learn from us.

2. EO Accelerator: A Mission for Global Impact
Being an instructor at EO Accelerator involves much more than attending sessions and sharing concepts. This program has an ambitious mission: to help entrepreneurs scale their businesses sustainably and efficiently. Fernando not only travels around Argentina and Latin America, but also embarks on tours around the world, connecting and training entrepreneurs from different cultures and contexts. In each place, he shares practical and efficient tools that help entrepreneurs improve their business processes and structures. Through EO Accelerator, Fernando helps each entrepreneur align their purpose with their work, building businesses that positively impact their communities. The key is that this program does not focus only on “what to do”, but on the “how” of execution.

3. Prioritize the Personal to Enhance the Professional
One of the most valuable lessons Fernando shared during our conversation was the importance of prioritizing ourselves. For many entrepreneurs, personal life takes a backseat to the demands of the business. However, Fernando emphasizes that only when one is aligned and at peace with oneself can one effectively lead and guide others. In his trainings, Fernando often reminds entrepreneurs that personal and family well-being is the foundation of professional success. What's the point of impacting large audiences if you're not present for those you care about? For him, leadership and example begin at home, and that's the mindset he instills in his students.
