At Vtiger, we are always excited to find and implement new technologies to help our CRM users work better. For example, when Google announced Gmail support for its own 3rd party add-ons, we were one of the first CRMs to work on news and create a Gmail Addon.

Now we have another exciting piece of news - Gmail, Outlook and other popular email clients have recently announced that they will support AMP-enabled email. We are very excited about this announcement because AMP allows you to send interactive and actionable emails to better engage with your email recipients. Whether you want to ask your customers to take a survey or browse your new catalog, AMP-enabled emails allow your customers to take action without leaving your email!

What is AMP for Email?
Before we dive into how Vtiger supports AMP-enabled email, let's understand what it is. Google launched Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) as an open source project in 2016 to speed up mobile page loading times to improve customer experience.

Using the same technical framework, you can now create dynamic emails that allow email recipients to take actions directly in the email thread, without having to open a new tab for each action. For example, you can send AMP-enabled emails so that email recipients can reply to comments, respond to meetings, fill out a survey, or view mini-websites within the email.

Previously, when you received an email notification for a comment where you were mentioned, you had to open the record in Vtiger CRM to see all the previous comments. Now, if your email client supports AMP, you can view the latest replies to the comment in the body of the email. These replies are retrieved in real time when you open the email. This means you will be better informed to send the best response. Not only does this help you respond quickly, but it also avoids the clutter caused by opening multiple tabs for each email notification.

With the number of email users growing and expected to reach 4.2 billion by 2022, AMP-enabled email is a game changer and has huge potential to make email more engaging, relevant, and actionable. Send out surveys and polls: Let your customers fill out forms or vote without leaving their email. In the case of live results, respondents can view the answers in real time.
Email Marketing Campaigns: Send marketing emails with real-time pricing, offers, and product availability.
Set an appointment: Let your clients choose time slots in the email.
Subscription and subscription management: Use AMP emails when an action is required, such as checking a subscription. Allow email subscribers to update their email preferences from within the email.
