Post-Punk
As the name suggests, Post-Punk emerged after the first wave of punk in the 1970s and incorporates a wide range of styles and influences while still maintaining a punk aesthetic. such as New Wave, Art Rock, Grunge, Shoegaze, and early iterations of Indie Rock. Modern revivals of this genre date back to the early 2000s and feature angular guitar riffs, propulsive basslines, thumping drums, and deadpan vocals that touch on themes of alienation, heartbreak, and social criticism.
Bounce
Bounce music is known for its energetic style of hip hop, originating in New Orleans in the late 1980s and early 1990s. With over 100 years of history in New Orleans, today's marching bands incorporate elements of Marching Band, Jazz, Funk, Gospel, Hip Hop, and the West African rhythms of Second Line. We are open to any modern interpretation of this style. Ideally authentic New Orleans based groups with a high energy party atmosphere.
Dancehall
Originating in Jamaica in the late 1970s and early 1980s, dancehall is a blend of reggae, dub, electronic music, and pop that incorporates elements of Caribbean and African musical styles. It is characterized by its energetic, infectious beats and fast-paced lyrics, as well as its powerful basslines created with synthesizers or drum machines. Because the genre revolves around dancing and movement, the tempo of dancehall is often significantly faster than traditional reggae music. Modern revivals date back to the 2000s and 2010s, when the genre gained popularity in the United States. It has continued to evolve as a part of mainstream pop music to this day.
