The announcement of a supposed new feature on Facebook has caused a stir among users, communications professionals and brands that use the tool. The “Dislike” button, according to initial analyses, would be yet another way to spread the hatred and intolerance that pop up in society and, consequently, are reflected on social media.
Despite the feature being highly requested by Facebook, Mark Zukemberg decided to calm the most anxious hearts. What is underway is a study of a way to show solidarity for victims of tragedies and other things that are inappropriate for the “Like”.

“I think people have been asking about the Dislike button for many years, and probably hundreds of people have been asking about it. Today is a special day, because today is the day I can actually say that we are working on it and we are very close to testing it.
A lot of people have pushed us to come up with this idea. Because, you know, we don’t want to just build a Dislike button and turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on posts.
