Method 2: Remove website URL field with a free plugin
If you want to remove the URL field from your WordPress comment form using a free plugin, check out Comment Link Remove and Comment Tools .

This plugin allows you to remove the field and also delete all links from comments that you have already approved .

Once activated, click Comment Tools » Comment Tools in the WordPress dashboard .
