How to become indispensable in the era of artificial intelligence?
Spoiler: Develop unique skills
Modern technologies are constantly evolving, and many are worried that robots and artificial intelligence programs will take the place of people in various fields. Will we be able to compete with machines?
Kevin Ruse, in his book Future-Proof, offers a solution: Don't try to albania phone number lead compete with machines, but develop unique human skills that will allow you to do what machines can't.
What will make us indispensable in the era of artificial intelligence?
The main advantages humans have over robots are the ability to deal with unexpected situations, show empathy, and combine ideas from different fields to create innovations.
In a stable environment with defined rules and organized incoming information, artificial intelligence works more efficiently than humans. However, in situations with unclearly formulated rules, lack of information and unforeseen circumstances, humans are still better than robots. For example, computers can easily beat a grandmaster at chess, but they have a hard time coping with the role of a kindergarten teacher. It is people who are able to keep their cool and make decisions in difficult and unforeseen situations who will have an advantage.
When machines learn to perform most of the routine tasks that make up our jobs, humans will be left with tasks that involve social and emotional aspects. The ability to create conditions for social interaction and emotional experiences will be a more valuable skill than the ability to perform tasks efficiently. For example, lawyers who can create a trusting atmosphere when communicating with clients, helping them solve their problems, and not just draft formal legal documents, will be in demand.
While AI can handle complex problems, it lacks the human ability to combine ideas from different sources. Therefore, the ability to combine different areas of knowledge to solve problems becomes critical. People with unusual combinations of skills and knowledge, who apply them creatively to solve problems, will win the competition with AI.
To perform the tasks that truly define us as humans, to take on social, unpredictable, and unique challenges and thus differentiate ourselves from machines, we must first learn to manage our minds and control our attention.
