YOUTUBE IS NOT PROFITABLE

Post by asimd23 »

Google does not share figures, only acknowledging that its online video business, YouTube, which it bought in October 2006 for 1.182 billion euros, is not profitable.

Analysts disagree on the figures, but Credit Suisse estimates a loss of $470 million. The figure is lowered to $174.2 million in the case of the report recently published by the American mom data technology consultancy RampRate. The main difference between the two studies is in the technological costs.

As for advertising revenue, Google is still looking for ways to make YouTube profitable. The company announced on Monday that users will be able to choose between a longer single view before selecting a video or shorter ones during playback. Thus, it is reflected that of small companies, only 6.49% buy online and only 1.6% sell products online. As for large companies, the figures are much more significant, since almost 24% buy online while online sales are almost 20%. Between one extreme and the other are medium-sized companies, of which 11% buy and 6% sell products online.

By activity sectors, the companies that use e-commerce the most are those in the service sector, followed by industry and then construction.

In this sense, this book offers a tour of what the AECEM considers to be all the points that must be taken into account when selling online... and above all, to do so successfully.
