Post by tanjimajuha20 »

The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media announced the results of the vote "for small settlements that will be connected to mobile Internet in 2025." In total, more than 1.6 thousand villages and towns will receive mobile Internet by the end of the year. Rostelecom will connect the first 367 settlements to the network by March 31, 2025, and another 439 by June 30.

The voting took place from August 5 to November 17, 2024, both online, via the Gosuslugi website, and by mail. 717,698 people took part in it. PJSC Rostelecom will be engaged in the construction of base stations and connecting settlements to the Internet on the territory of the Russian Federation, except for the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol.

A representative of the switzerland telegram Rostelecom press service noted that in Crimea, Sevastopol and new regions the program for eliminating digital inequality (UCN 2.0) is under the jurisdiction of Miranda-Media LLC.

of Russian base stations where this will be possible based on the results of radio planning and taking into account technical capabilities. Rostelecom has a forward contract with Bulat LLC for the supply of 2G/4G base stations (BS). Surveys and development of design documentation are currently underway; it is premature to assess the complexity of the upcoming work until they are completed. But, as usual, it is difficult to work in permafrost conditions, as well as in populated areas that do not have permanent access roads," a representative of the Rostelecom press service told ComNews.

In May 2023, Rostelecom (represented by its 100% subsidiary, Commit Capital LLC) increased its stake in Bulat LLC from 37.5% to 51%, and in December transferred this stake to another controlled company, Restrim LLC.

A representative of the Bulat press service did not answer questions from a ComNews correspondent.

Russian base stations
OOO Bulat localizes LTE base stations developed by the Chinese company Hytes Communications/Hytera. Hytera base stations are designed for private networks, so they do not allow creating a city-scale network. At the same time, they are ideal for solving the UCN problem, since one (maximum two) base stations need to be installed in each settlement, which fits perfectly into the pLTE profile.
