The specifics of the industry, as explained by a representative of the company's press service, impose certain requirements on software developers for knowledge of technological processes. This and the absence of an industry integrator led to the fact that metallurgical companies have become accustomed to relying on their own resources and forming teams with a full range of competencies.
"The solutions already being developed at the Metallurgy ICC have teams of developers, but the anchor customers of the solutions have the right to involve third-party developers," concluded a representative of the Severstal press service.
Representatives of the press south korea whatsapp number database services of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, JSC RMK (Russian Copper Company) and JSC Rusal did not respond to a request from a ComNews correspondent.
Directorate "Metallurgy and Telecom" of IBS Soft LLC (IBS), said that IBS has been working with such metallurgy giants as Norilsk Nickel, Severstal, Mechel, etc. for over 20 years. According to him, metallurgical enterprises are actively implementing digital technologies, and this leads to the emergence of new tasks and needs for the development of specialized software.
"Customers come with different tasks," he said. "But if we generalize, these are manufacturing execution systems (MES): automation and optimization of production processes, tracking of materials, quality control, planning and dispatching; monitoring and control of technological processes in real time; quality control of products, tracking of defects, risk analysis and management; planning, forecasting and optimization of production operations."
Nikolay Potapov, Director of Business Development at Reksoft LLC, a partner company of Norsoft LLC (a subsidiary of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, which develops software), agrees with him. He noted that one of the priority areas for the industry is the improvement and automation of production processes and tracking of key performance indicators (KPI).
"Metallurgical enterprises are actively implementing digital technologies, and this leads to the emergence of new tasks and needs for the development of specialized software," said Nikolai Potapov.
Grigory Chetiy added that failure to comply with reliability and safety requirements, errors in projects or development of projects for the metallurgical industry are fraught with serious accidents and a direct threat to human health and life.
"Metallurgy enterprises often have a complex structure, including many different systems and devices, so integrating a new solution with existing systems can be a complex and time-consuming task. It is also necessary to take into account that the lack of standards and unification in the metallurgy industry can make it difficult to develop universal solutions. Each company has specific requirements and features, which requires an individual approach to work," he said.
However, in his opinion, software development for the industry has great potential to improve the efficiency, safety and environmental friendliness of production. And new technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and digital twins open up new opportunities for optimizing processes and reducing costs.
CEO of SETERE Group, Oleg Ivchenkov, noted that the cooperation agreement signed by the participants of the ICC Metallurgy will allow them to obtain a high-quality result in a shorter period of time. He noted that other industries should follow suit, as the agreement will improve coordination with customers, simplify the process of software development and testing, and provide additional funding through government grants.
"At the moment, SETERE Group is only considering the possibility of cooperation with metallurgical companies," concluded Oleg Ivchenkov.
