Discover how cloud migration offers expansion opportunities for organizations. Learn about the key benefits of this process.
Today, data is the main asset of organizations and the large volume that circulates within and outside them poses opportunities and challenges in aspects such as costs, storage and expansion possibilities.
Cloud migration can help manage data and applications by providing the scalability and flexibility needed to support growth. What is it about this process that has become the rule rather than the exception in organizations of various sizes and sectors? What advantages does it offer and what are the main considerations for undertaking the move to the cloud?
Across all application and workload deployment strategies, 47% of nurse database are pursuing a cloud-first strategy by deploying new applications using public cloud services.

What is cloud migration?
Cloud migration is the transition of traditional enterprise applications to a cloud environment, whether public, private, or a hybrid cloud environment .
Public clouds: These are run by third-party cloud service providers. They offer compute, storage, and network resources over the Internet, allowing businesses to access shared resources on-demand based on their unique business requirements and objectives.
Private clouds: These are built, managed, and owned by a single organization and hosted privately in their own on-premises data centers. They provide greater control, security, and data management, allowing users to benefit from a shared pool of compute, storage, and network resources.
Hybrid clouds: These combine public and private cloud models, enabling businesses to take advantage of public cloud services while maintaining the security and compliance capabilities typically found in private cloud architectures.
This eliminates the need for companies to obtain, configure or manage resources on their own, paying only for what they use. There are three types of cloud computing service models :
Infrastructure as a service that provides processing and storage services.
The platform as a service that offers a development and deployment environment for building in the cloud.
Software as a service provides apps as services.
The advantages of migrating to the cloud
Migrating to a cloud environment enables faster delivery of new services and flexibility with on-demand resources. It also offers scalability, recovery and accessibility, as well as the potential to reduce total cost of ownership.
