Not so. Different projects and departments have different hourly rates. There are “free” tasks (we always fix our mistakes for free) and there are tasks that require special expertise. Multiplication alone is definitely not enough here. Our project managers, like true Excel wizards, used VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. Creating one such report took from 30 to 50 minutes. And the project manager has many clients.



Finding a solution

If there had been another system in its place, that's what we would have done. But YouTrack is closed, you can't do much with plugins. We couldn't give up YouTrack (it is integrated with several customer systems), so we decided to make a separate system integrated with YouTrack. Fortunately, the REST API allowed this.

Today we would solve a similar problem in 1C, but at that time INTERVOLGA did not have such competence. But there was competence in web development and we decided to make a web application on the well-established and popular Laravel framework.
